The House of Refuge serves men, ages 18 and older, who have a common desire to leave their current lifestyle. Men need to be willing and able to work, be clean and sober, and cannot have a conviction or plea bargain for a violent crime, sexual assault or arson.
Incoming men receive clean bedding, towels, a toiletry kit and clothing as needed.
Each resident must obtain full time employment or work part time if attending school.
Weekly fees are collected from each resident for participation in the program and everyone performs regular housekeeping and maintenance chores.
Residents prepare their own breakfast and lunch each day and volunteers prepare hot meals each evening. Men must attend Bible study three nights a week and an evening meal five nights a week.
